Lent
On the Audio Deacon App
We’ve moved from Epiphany into the season of Lent.
Historically, Lent is a season when the Church turns her attention more acutely toward the sufferings of Christ and our call to a life of repentance. We slow down. We lament our sins. We confess them. We follow our Lord more deliberately in obedience. The Church always does this, of course, but Lent places a firmer emphasis on these themes.
The music shifts, too. We sing Lenten hymns like “O Sacred Head Now Wounded” and “Alas! And Did My Savior Bleed.” The tone deepens and the prayers have a different weight.
At Audio Deacon, we don’t ignore the Church calendar, we lean into it.
For the next 40 days, the app is highlighting albums, songs, and psalms that fit this season: penitential psalms, records of lament, and works that help us contemplate Christ, His cross, and our response as his people.
When you open the app, you’ll now see Lent front and center.
